Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience is falling onto a Pac-man table and splitting my eyebrow open at a summer camp. It's not the fondest memory I have of my childhood, but it is the first one to come to mind. I had to get stitches right above my eye.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I closely identify with my dad because we have similar interests and qualities. We both love playing sports and training. We also both take a very analytical and logical approach to things.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire honesty and discipline in people. Discipline allows one to become more than just their current feelings and pursue something greater than themselves. I believe honesty keeps people grounded and aligns their actions with what they believe in. It also allows them to form worthwhile and deep relationships with people.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? When I was in 6th grade, I accidentally had my middle finger up during a class picture. I didn't know the photographer was about to take the picture and I was talking and joking to my friend. Nobody caught the issue at any point during the picture processing so the whole class got the picture with me flipping off the camera.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to mountainous places to engage in sports that I love, like hiking and snowboarding. I would also travel to cities where my friends live like Chicago and New York to visit them. I would also travel to cultural centers of the world like Tokyo and Istanbul to experience art and different ways of life.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass on to them good values and an open mind. I would want them to be able to perceive the world and come up with their own interpretations of the world. The values I pass on to them would be very simple and intuitive, e.g. not tied to any particular institution.
