| What is your most memorable childhood experience? | When I was maybe 3, my uncle took me flying. It was the coolest thing ever. That memory is why I joined the Air Force. |
| What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I don’t identify with any of them closely. I have always done things, and seen the world differently than everyone else, so there was no template that I was able to squeeze into. |
| What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire integrity, resilience, and curiosity. |
| What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | When I was a kid, I fell into a pond in Puerto Rico and all the other kids laughed. I didn’t care, but this one girl kept teasing me, so I put a bunch of frogs in her purse. When she opened her purse, they scared her and I laughed. She started crying and I got in trouble, but when the adults left, she stopped crying and laughed at me then kissed me and ran away. |
| If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I’d travel everywhere at any time. Everywhere in the world is unique and has something cool to see for any number of reasons. So, whatever I feel like seeing in a moment is where I'll go. |
| When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I hope they have the ability to be strong enough to handle hard decisions, the insight to know what's worth the effort, and to always be brave enough to always look it in the eye. |
