| What is your most memorable childhood experience? | One memorable childhood experience is when I was at a sleepover with a friend. His parents gave us $5, and we walked to the nearby Goodwill, bought "Kindergarten Cop" on VHS, and watched it at his house. It felt odd to be in a store without an adult, but it was great to be trusted to do that on our own. I was impressed by how responsibly he handled the freedom his parents gave him and looked up to him because of that. |
| What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I closely identify with my father. We are similar in many ways, like our mannerisms, disposition (usually), and sense of humor. His ability to remain calm under pressure and do things for people without expecting recognition has always inspired me and are things I try to imitate. |
| What character traits do you admire in an individual? | One character trait I admire is adaptability. I believe this trait has been singularly important for living an enjoyable life. It allows people to get through the inevitable challenges and changes that happen in life. |
| What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | This was such a hard question to answer because the funniest moments I can think of come from specific interactions that don't translate well when retold. However, one mildly funny thing I can think of is when I was trick-or-treating as a kid and accidentally said "I love you" to someone because I was used to saying it on the phone. It was an embarrassing but amusing moment that I still cringe at. |
| If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | If time and money weren't issues, I would like to travel to Greece. I recently read a book called The Magus by John Fowles. In the book, he described the Greek countryside and the general majesty of the Greek land/seascape, and I would love to experience it in person. |
| When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | If I ever had children, I would like to pass on my curiosity. I believe it is important to question the world around them and seek out knowledge or experiences. I have always been a curious person, and I think it has served me well. |
