| What is your most memorable childhood experience? | My childhood friend is very close because to this day we love to play video games together and in middle school we would love to laugh, even if it was for no reason in class, so it was always a good time to be around him. We loved the same snacks when it came to chips, hot fires, Doritos nacho cheese, and Funyuns. I would share my snacks with him when we had snack time in school, and he would do the favor back when I didn't have any. Truly my Dominican brother from another mother. |
| What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | My father is someone who I identify with, he was known for helping people with their taxes and also giving rides to and from places. There was a time my dad took me and a family friend to New York because that person needed to go to the airport. I also can relate because I love to give people rides to places when I have spare time. When I first got my license, I was the first person in my friend group to drive around everybody including my cousins and family. |
| What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire people who are responsible, respectful, and honest in the way they live their lives. I value individuals who are flexible and able to adapt when situations change, while still remaining dependable. Compassion and patience are also very important to me, because they show how someone treats others, especially during difficult moments. I believe these qualities build trust and strong relationships. They are traits I actively try to practice every day. |
| What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | When I got to middle school, someone came up to me and told me that I looked like this character Chris from the TV show called Everybody Hates Chris. I remember one day the teacher had to tell me to step out of the class because I was causing a distraction because everybody loved when I clapped loud. I gave my teacher an eyebrow look and said out loud “You're throwing me out for clapping?” and everybody started laughing. It was funny and still till this day I laugh about it. |
| If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | If time and money were not an issue, I would love to travel to Medellín, Colombia. Being in Medellin is a place that makes me feel at home and I always find a way to go every single year starting in 2022. I love to go to El Poblado because of the high rises, vibrant nightlife scene and many restaurants that are around. One of my favorites I went to for my 25th birthday is called Tony Roma’s. I also love going to Comuna 13, which is a popular tourist destination for its graffitour including street dancing, food vendors, and murals explaining the neighborhood's history. I love going outside and taking walks whether I am in Envigado or Laureles. I get to speak Spanish and interact with the local people. It’s such a calm experience every time I go. |
| When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | If I have children one day, I would want to pass on the life lessons I have learned and the strength I gained from overcoming obstacles. I would teach them to treat everyone with fairness, respect, and kindness, no matter what the situation. Helping them develop good values and empathy toward others would be very important to me. I would also hope to leave them in a better position than I started, including any inheritance or opportunities I can provide. Most of all, I would want them to feel supported and loved. |
