Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? When I was nine or ten, my family went camping with a bunch of my friends and their families. There really isn't any particular episode which stands out, but just the memory of camaraderie with my friends and just the carefree innocence of youth and that I didn't have a worry in the world.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify most with my brother for many reasons. He is similar in age. We grew up together and shared many experiences throughout my youth. We both enjoy many of the same pastimes, and have always been friends. Plus, we are the first generation to be raised in the United States.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire many traits in individuals – some which I have, others which I do not. First, and foremost, I admire consistency. Being able to know what I can count on in a person means a lot to me. I admire courage, spontaneity, and the ability to make a decision and stick with it. I also admire those who are independent and capable of standing alone.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? It's kind of sick really, but my dog and I were just playing a game of tag and out of the blue he decides to give me a nip on my butt. Then as I go to chastise him, he urinates on my leg and then he throws up on my homework from all the excitement. Later, he starts barking at me because he's jealous that my mom was hugging me, but then he licks my face telling me everything's OK. Nothing separately hilarious, but taken together was pretty funny to me.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?First, I would travel to China, as I have never done so and would very much like to learn about the history of my people and understand the life my parents lived. Then I would travel around to all the beaches in the world, as I love the sun, sand and ocean.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like for them to know that no matter what they do that their parents love them, and that life is precious – live each day with enthusiasm as tomorrow is not guaranteed to them. And most of all, to enjoy life because no matter how bad a situation may be, there is always someone worse off than you – enjoy what you can.
