What is your most memorable childhood experience?When I was about ten, my dad built a treehouse for me in the woods behind our house. I would play there almost every day after school, either alone or with my best friend. I think my love of the outdoors comes from all that time in the woods as a kid.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?The immediate family member that I closely identify with is my father. Though he was not formally well-educated, he was intelligent, hard-working and honest. I have immense respect for him, and think of him as the exemplary American man.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Honesty, integrity, and a good work ethic are all important to me. I've tried to surround myself personally and professionally with good people who exhibit these traits.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?While working in retail, the employees would regularly play practical jokes on me and each other. Almost weekly they would have me laughing so hard that I would be in tears. Collectively those jokes were the funniest events for me.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I've been able to travel a lot already. If time and money didn't matter I would travel to visit old friends who are elsewhere now. I keep in contact with a lot of high school, college and army friends but would like to see more of them.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass on two major things, personal quality of character and an appreciation for our American heritage and culture.
