What is your most memorable childhood experience? | When I was about ten, my dad built a treehouse for me in the woods behind our house. I would play there almost every day after school, either alone or with my best friend. I think my love of the outdoors comes from all that time in the woods as a kid. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | The immediate family member that I closely identify with is my father. Though he was not formally well-educated, he was intelligent, hard-working and honest. I have immense respect for him, and think of him as the exemplary American man. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | Honesty, integrity, and a good work ethic are all important to me. I've tried to surround myself personally and professionally with good people who exhibit these traits. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | While working in retail, the employees would regularly play practical jokes on me and each other. Almost weekly they would have me laughing so hard that I would be in tears. Collectively those jokes were the funniest events for me. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I've been able to travel a lot already. If time and money didn't matter I would travel to visit old friends who are elsewhere now. I keep in contact with a lot of high school, college and army friends but would like to see more of them. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I would like to pass on two major things, personal quality of character and an appreciation for our American heritage and culture. |
