Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience is going to pro baseball games with my sister, dad, and grandfather. My dad and grandpa would teach me about the game. I can still recall by name most of the players I watched back in those days. I remember eating a lot of ballpark food, and my grandpa always buying me some type of souvenir. To this day, my most cherished memories are going to baseball and hockey games with my dad and grandpa. Now, every time I go to a game, I remember the great times I had with my grandpa, who passed away several years ago.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? When I think about this it's hard for me to decide between my mother and father because they are so much alike. But I think I identify the most with my mother. She is thoughtful, caring, giving, understanding, and intelligent. I always feel like I can count on her when I need to talk to her or when I need something, much like others do with me. She enjoys the little things in life and has a great sense of morality.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire a person who is honest, trustworthy, respectful, open-minded and kind. I feel that these are some of the traits that all people should strive for in themselves.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?One of the funniest things ever to happen to me occurred when I was younger. I had played soccer ever since I was about 8 years old and I always had a reputation of being hyper and getting bored very easily. I was 14 years old playing goalkeeper for my under-16 team. I played every position but I was hardly ever the goalie. We were winning big and I was extremely bored so I started jumping up and hanging on the crossbar. Well, I was hanging there and the next thing I know is I am fishing myself out of the net because it had fallen over. The ref had to blow the whistle and stop play. Everyone on the sidelines, especially my teammates and even me, were laughing hysterically. I gave a wave to the crowd and put the net back up and the game continued- along with that memory to this day.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If I had the time and money, I would travel to Europe and go sightseeing. I have always wanted to visit the European countries, especially Greece and Italy because of their history and architecture. I would also want to go Ireland and Scotland to visit where my father's side of the family originated.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to have children, a boy and a girl, and raise a family. When I did, I would like to pass on my intelligence, outgoing personality, athleticism, and sense of family. I want my kids to be like me because I feel that if they are they will have a happy and fulfilling life.
