What is your most memorable childhood experience?When I was 16 I spent ten days backpacking at the Philmont Scout Ranch In New Mexico. This was my first continuous backpacking trip. We played Ultimate Frisbee on the mountain to get acclimated to the thin air. Upon reaching the top there was still a blanket of snow on the opposite side. We made a snowman in June, and slid down the mountain on our backs. It wasn't until we stopped sliding and had to climb back up that we realized how silly it was to leave our packs at the top.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I closely identify with my father. We sound the same, have the same mannerisms, and enjoy the same career ambitions.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire ambition the most in an individual. I think it is the trait that is most required to achieve greatness in one's life.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?During junior high graduation, while my entire class of thirty-five sat on stage in the auditorium to receive our certificates I pulled the chair out from under the girl sitting in front of me. She was horribly embarrassed. A few years later the same girl successfully completed the same prank on me during my high school graduation.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to Japan and climb Mount Fuji. I've always thought that trip would be the most beautiful and fulfilling.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass on my athleticism and ambition. If my children inherit those qualities from me I will never fear or doubt for their success.
