Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? It is difficult to choose from so many: between camping with my family, to fishing trips, to learning to ride a horse for the first time. But the most memorable experience I can think of would be going to a water park for the first time with my family, including grandparents and cousins. I can remember so vividly the rush of going down my first water slide. Probably my favorite part of the water park was swimming through the waves in the giant wave pool.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?The family member I most closely relate with would have to be my sister. We have had our sibling squabbles like most families do. But in the end, we have had the chance to live, learn and grow together through the good times and the bad. Our bond will never be broken.
What character traits do you admire in an individual? The traits I most admire are a strong will, honesty, respect, and courage. A person with a strong will is someone who stands for what they believe and can never be broken. An honest person is someone you can trust no matter what and is wise in what they say and do, even if they do not realize it. Someone who has respect generally shows kindness to others no matter what the situation and is good mannered and level headed. Finally a courageous person, not just to try new things or laugh in the face of danger or fear, but to have the heart to own up to their mistakes and be the bigger person, whether they were in the wrong or not, shows character more than anything.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?One of the funniest things to happen to me would have to be a recent event. I went to a Greek restaurant for the first time and was surprised that the restaurant also had a show. It was a family atmosphere restaurant that happened to have a belly dancer performing. After performing her act and teaching the children in the restaurant to belly dance, she proceeded around the restaurant having random guests stand and dance. When she came to my side of the establishment, I was the only one on that entire side she chose to dance. And on top of that, she had me dance on top of a table!
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I have always had a fascination with Asian cultures. I would begin my journey in China, visiting the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the Terracotta Army. Then off to Japan to visit the monkeys at the Jigokudani Monkey Park, the Tokyo Imperial Palace, and Mount Fuji. After Japan I would head to Greece to see the Parthenon and the Delphi Theater at least. I would end my journey in Ireland with the Giant's Causeway, the Cliffs of Moher, Dublin, and ending on the Aran islands. Not only are these some of the most culturally enriched and beautiful places on the planet, this trip would be full of excitement and end in a peaceful, romantic environment with hopefully the love of my life.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? When the time comes for me to have children, the things to pass on would be too numerous to count. But the things I would like to pass on most would be my determination and my passion. Determination to accomplish any goal set before one is an invaluable tool that can take anyone far. The passion I speak of is the love of helping others through the art of Chiropractic medicine.
