Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience is just playing in the yard when I was a child. The summertime weather was fine and I had plenty of friends to play with. I had not a care in the world. Just being with my friends in the sun and having water fights. That was the life.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify most closely with my little sister. We are the most similar, and have the same attitude about things. We have the same ideas about school projects, she helps me choose how to dress, and we have deep conversations about our goals and dreams. We grew up having each other's back, and we have a great friendship along with a family bond.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire someone who is ambitious yet easygoing. While I think people should be more ambitious and goal-oriented, life is too short to be always stressed. I try to surround myself with that type of people. I think there is a clear line between being lazy and being easygoing.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?The funniest thing that ever happened to me was when my mom started using slang one day. It was so funny that she actually thought she could be gangster for the day. It really made me laugh hearing her mispronounce all the words and still try to be serious.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to Puerto Rico. I have always wanted to go to the place my ancestors came from. I still have uncles, aunts and cousins who live there. Being able to reconnect with my relatives would really be a blessing.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass on my sense of humor to my children. The ability to laugh, both at yourself and along with others, is a really good trait to have. I would like to pass on my knowledge, so that they could learn from my mistakes. And hopefully I can leave them with a car and a house to call their own.
