Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? When I was eleven years old, I was outside while some of my siblings were playing with fire. Somehow I found myself in a train of flammable liquid and, before I knew it, I was on fire. I ended up getting a third degree burn on my left leg and had to re-learn simple activities such as walking. I remember that day like it was yesterday.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I would say that I most closely identify with my mother. My parents divorced when I was one, so I was raised by only her for the majority of my life. She has shown me some of the most important qualities like work ethic, how to treat people, and what to shoot for in life.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I believe the best trait for someone to have is to be open-minded. You never know what you are going to face in life, so why only prepare and want one thing.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?The funniest thing that has ever happened to me would have to be pretty recent. I have been growing out my hair and after my first haircut I walked into the store with my hair still picked out into an afro. I had a woman approach me and ask me for my autograph thinking I was related to a member of the Commodores.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If I had unlimited time and money I would travel to Japan. It seems like such a different environment, and I would like to see it firsthand.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass on to them the characteristics that my mother passed on to me: work ethic, how to treat others and to strive for exactly what they want in life.
