What is your most memorable childhood experience? | My most memorable moment was when my mother's car was towed out of the front yard. As a single parent, my mother had difficulty raising five kids while working multiple jobs. As a child, I recognized that event and told myself if I had any choice, I would never let that happen to my mother again. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I identify with my sister. She is a Major in the Air Force, has her Master's degree and is a very authentic individual. Aside from aspiring to her success I find our personalities are very similar. We both are hard working, ambitious, warm-hearted, loyal and take care of others before ourselves. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | The traits I find very important are the following: respectful, humble, enthusiastic, honest, loyal and trustworthy. My friends have one or more of these traits and the people I surround myself with also have these traits. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | When I was eight years old, I was overtaken by hunger for my mother's patented biscuits. I rushed into the refrigerator and began eating them very quickly. I was then mocked and laughed at by my siblings after I realized that the rotten biscuits were intended for the dogs. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would travel to an impoverished part of Africa. Once there, I would build a school and work with the community to operate the school on their terms with one caveat- to learn English as well. Various positions like translators, instructors, nurses, librarians, coaches, counselors, etc. would need to be staffed. By accessing the existing population of the community a partnership could be developed into a successful non-profit organization. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I would like to share my life's lessons with my children but also the mistakes I have made. I believe both sides will give them a full understanding of what they need to do in order to succeed in life and be happy. |
