Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experiences revolve around traveling basketball. Particularly the state tournament in eighth grade. The sense of unity and determination my team and I channeled that weekend is something I still tap into today.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?Although I am close to all of my family, I am definitely a self-proclaimed "momma's boy." I admire so many of her qualities and strive to be more like her every day. We are both extroverted and share a perfectionist mindset.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire someone who is noble, yet open-minded. Someone who is courageous enough to have their own moral code, but is humble enough to respect the values of others.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?Once upon a time, I was walking my dog around a lake. I like to let her explore along the shoreline, but this particular time she ventured onto a slick (with algae), angled concrete structure and slid into the chilly early spring water of the lake. She is a very athletic dog, but could not manage to claw her way out of the water because of the slippery slope; within seconds she began to panic. I threw my valuables to the side and ventured to the edge of the concrete structure, hoping to pull her up by the collar. I, too, felt the wrath of the slimy cement and slid into the water. The silver lining? I am now a hero to my furry, four-legged child.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would like to travel to Egypt. The Great Pyramids at Giza both excite me and baffle me. To see them with my own eyes is atop my bucket list.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I hope to pass on my strong sense of family to my children. I want them to understand that they have a closely-knit support system that they can look to for advice when facing life's challenges.
