Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience would have to be going to see the last night space shuttle launch. It was the very last night launch that NASA would ever do, and amazing does not begin to describe it. The viewing location is about a mile away from the launch site but you could still feel the heat from the flames of the rockets. You could feel the earth tremble under your feet as the shock waves traveled miles. But what was most amazing to me was the fact that the rockets had enough force to propel hundreds of tons of material past the atmosphere.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I am the closest with my mother. I get most of my attributes from her, but this is probably mostly due to the fact that my father would travel a lot when I was a child. She has done so much for me, and has helped me through many rough patches.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Honesty. It is very hard nowadays, and perhaps always, to be honest. Because when you are honest with not only yourself but with everyone, you are willing to face the consequences of whatever action took place.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?The funniest thing that ever happened to me would have to be at a carnival. It was rather damp outside and me and my date were walking around with an unopened umbrella, just in case it might rain. We were walking past the ride called "The Zipper," which is just metal steal cages attached on an axle on an upper end that flips and rotates around a central axle. I noticed it was starting to rain so I opened the umbrella, and it was at that exact moment, when I placed the umbrella over my date's head, that the umbrella got covered with throw up. Not only was it funny, but it made my date's night!
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would love to travel to the moon. It has long been a childhood dream of mine to travel into space, and the moon would just be amazing. Being able to gaze on a small blue marble, that is actually our planet, would be mesmerizing.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?A legacy, something that I worked hard for and they would have to work hard to keep going. Maybe not as hard as I had to work to get it started but I want them to have everything that life has to offer, without ever having to worry about the thought of money.
