Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience?Probably my experiences at the hospital after I fractured a growth plate in my wrist. I spent all this time in these amazing buildings, being around the most professional health care providers, and experiencing the best of modern technology. Four corrective surgeries later, I was in love with health care. After that I knew that's where I wanted to spend my time working.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?The younger of my sisters. For one, our career paths. We both have been in some aspect of health care since high school. We have spent somewhat equal amounts of time in school and have the same views of education. She's smart, I love her intelligence, and I value her opinion more than pretty much any other person.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Intelligence and work ethic. Some people might give some words for this answer that would describe interpersonal skills. But I think intelligence not only is reflected in communication but in every aspect of your life. Because of that, I think it's the most valuable trait. Work ethic is also important because it shows that you're willing to do something with your intelligence.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?Well, I was walking down the hall between classes in high school (so there's not many people walking around). Three of the popular girls from the grade above me are ahead of me, and as I'm like thirty feet away, some of them look up from their conversation and wave at me. I'd be shocked if any of them knew my name but I awkwardly waved back, already feeling awkward. Instantly they all gave me this look like...what are you doing? Well they had been waving at the girl that was walking behind me. It may not be funny to me but they sure laughed pretty hard so that is the funniest thing. I'm not proofreading this essay because it was kind of painful to relive once.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?Australia. I love animals, the scenery looks awesome. The Great Barrier Reef has always been top of my list for the world's greatest wonders. Obviously money kind of gets in the way.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? How to learn. There's so much that's involved in this that it can only be accomplished by someone who spends the most time with a child. Obviously the formal education plays a huge role, but an individual's attitude towards classes and education is shaped in and outside of the classroom. If I can convince a child to NEVER stop learning, I wouldn't even be able to fathom how much this is going to pay off for them.
