Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable experience from my childhood has to be from when I was four or so. My family was flying back to the States from being stationed in Germany. Military flights are uncomfortable and must have been nearly impossible to sit through being so young. Halfway through the flight one of the pilots was patrolling the bay and offered to take me up into the cockpit. I will never forget the massive cockpit with buttons flashing and clouds all around. It was definitely something I've always carried with me.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?My sister. Being raised by a single mother we have always been close. We have entirely different personalities and clash regularly however, we can tell each other everything. Nobody knows me better than she does.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire people who are ambitious, kind, and show strong fortitude. A person who knows where they are going, is determined to get there and is tactful along the way is a person worth respecting. I can't think of something more admirable than dedication.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?In retrospect the funniest thing to ever happen to me has to be when I was sixteen, visiting my dad in another state. He, my sister and I went go-kart racing. We had just started when ants crawled down from the foam of my helmet onto my face. It was terrifying. It stung. I wrecked my kart. Looking back on it, it seems like something out of a movie.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?Space. If time and money were not an issue I'd want to do something that would cost amounts of time and money that would be "Out of this world." See Earth, the planets, the sun up close. That would be unimaginable.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?More than anything my drive to keep pushing towards my goals is what I hope to pass down to my children. I feel that I live a life of constant self-satisfaction. I push myself to accomplish all my goals both big and small. I believe it's the small goals that I go through all the time that bring me joy, that make me feel purposeful and make my larger goals feel more obtainable.
