What is your most memorable childhood experience? | I remember a trip with my father to visit a navy base in China and seeing the East China Sea for the first time. I was completely taken away by how big and beautiful it was. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | My mother. She has a very strong intellectual pursuit and an unstoppable drive to take action whenever a good idea comes up. She inspires me to try out and pursue so many things in life. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | Proactiveness. Being able to take action, to ask for, pursue, and fight for whatever you want in life. Selflessness. Serving, helping and giving to others without asking for anything in return. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | Once I went to try out the cheapest haircut place I've ever heard of in China, which only cost 30 cents when converted to US currency. I got my hair almost completely shaved off without them asking me. People who met me later asked me if I was a Buddhist monk. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | Africa. I was fascinated with animals and the wilderness of Africa since childhood. I want to roam the vast plain myself. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | My intelligence. My curiosity. My tenacity. And my strong personal drive. |
