Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience was going to Zion National Park with my mom and dad in 7th grade. Before going to Utah and experiencing this national wonder, I had never been to a mountain range of any kind before. When we first arrived I was awestruck by how big and majestic it was, and I have never forgotten that feeling to this day.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I feel that I closely identify with my mom. My mom and I are strong willed and tenacious, but at the same time we both have a soft heart; which is explained by our career choices of directly working with people in the healthcare field. She as a social worker, and myself as a nurse.
What character traits do you admire in an individual? Two traits that I admire are humbleness and honesty. Moreover, I think being honest to yourself and not just others is a huge part of that specific trait, because it holds you accountable for your actions. Secondly, I value humbleness because it signifies that a person is willing to put others before themselves.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?The funniest thing that has ever happened to me was my first kiss, in 10th grade after the Sadie Hawkins dance (girls ask the guys). My date was my girlfriend of two weeks, and we had never kissed before, which was mainly because I was too scared to. After the dance we and our friends were heading to our cars to leave. We all said our goodbyes, and everybody left except for my girlfriend and I. We finally said our goodbyes, and we both went in for a kiss. During this I closed my eyes, and I missed her lips completely and I ended up kissing her eyeball. Immediately, both of us burst out laughing at what just happened. Although we aren’t dating anymore, we are still friends, and we laugh about it whenever either of us brings it up.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If time and money were not an issue I would travel to Thailand. This is because of how beautiful the country is, and how much of a culture shock it would be to me. I have only traveled out of the country once, so if time and money were not an issue I would want to travel somewhere where absolutely everything I saw and did was an awesome and unique experience.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? When I have children the single most important thing that I would want to pass on to them would be how to respect themselves and others. Being respectful to yourself and others encompasses such a wide array good morals that I feel they could take that knowledge and make the world around them a better place.
