What is your most memorable childhood experience? | It is hard for me to really choose one moment that I remember the most, but I would say generally that my soccer trips, both at home and abroad, were the most memorable. It is not really one specific trip that I particularly liked the most, but with soccer I was able to experience different cultures at such a young age, which gave me a better-rounded education on the differences between people, which is never a bad thing. Obviously, traveling and being able to play the sport that I loved was a big reward on its own, but what I take away the most is meeting new people and experiencing different foods, languages, and cultures. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I identify most with my brothers, both because I grew up with them and we always played together. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire respect, kindness and ambition. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | I can't pin down one specific situation that was funny so I will just say how I spent one night and half a day at the airport on my own at the age of eighteen in Rio, Brazil. I was a bit more shy when I was younger than I am now, so I guess you can say it helped in a funny way because after that night I came back a very social person. For the most part during that instance I did not have music to listen to and nothing to read so there was little else to do but get out there and mingle. I started by just going to different stores and asking about stuff and then it led to me being at bars and socializing with other tourists so it was a fun experience in a negative situation. There are other funny moments I have had, but I guess this one brought me out of my funk socially, so to speak. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would travel everywhere because I have already traveled a lot, and I know that traveling and meeting new people and cultures is a great experience. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I have a son, and would like to pass on to him the things that my parents passed on to me which are commitment, respect, dedication, hard work, and kindness. |
