| What is your most memorable childhood experience? | I used to play baseball as a kid. And one time around the age of twelve, my team had a game. It was the first time that the coach was going to introduce the hand signals for the batters to bunt if the situation called for it. Late into the game I came up to bat and the bases were loaded. The coach hadn't given anyone else the bunt signal all game, and I had forgotten all about it. But at that moment he decided to give the signal, and it didn't dawn on me until mid-swing. Instead of bunting in the winning run, I hit a checked swing triple to score three runs instead. |
| What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | My mother, even though I look more like my father. And my brother looks like my mother, but takes after my father. My mother and I have similar interests and lifestyles. We like hanging out with and helping our friends. But we both also like our personal time. |
| What character traits do you admire in an individual? | Friendliness and honesty. As long as people are open and honest, then all are considered equals. Whenever secrets and lies come into a relationship, they tend to taint the situation. Honesty keeps the playing field level for all. |
| What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | Years ago I was on a road trip to Florida with a few friends for a weekend music festival. We stopped for gas late at night in the Great Smoky Mountains, and happened to lock our keys in the truck. Who do you call at 2 am in the mountains of Tennessee to help out? Luckily the attendant at the station had an old coat hanger that we eventually unlocked the door with. Crazy enough though, no sooner had we unlocked our door, someone in the car next to us did the same thing. We just handed him the coat hanger and said good luck. |
| If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would love to climb and see Machu Picchu. I have been hiking in Colorado on a number of occasions. And a few times I've hiked up above 14,000 feet in altitude, which Machu Picchu is also above. I'm sure the view there will be as amazing, if not more so, than what I've seen in the States. And to top it off to see the remains of a culture who survived daily atop the world. |
| When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | Be honest and open to the world. We are all on our own path, but the paths always connect at some point. So be open to other people, experiences, etc. You never know what you can learn from something until you've experienced it. |
