Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience is playing with a friend who lived two houses away from my grandmother. We would ride bikes and play games, running back and forth between our two yards. My cousin, who is about the same age as me, would join us occasionally when she was around.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I resemble my mother in many ways. She is hard working and always there for her family. We went through a few family troubles and it was she and I who were there, taking care of each other and my siblings.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I like when people are close to their families. These people are normally caring, generous, and responsible. They take care of each other and make sure that everyone can live healthy and stable lives. They are willing to work as hard as necessary to provide for their family and even give up some of their own possessions to help someone else in need.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?My friend and I were playing in his grandmother's backyard during a thunderstorm with a slip and slide and a pool that had not been cleaned in a week. My friend was much smaller than I was. He told me to lay on my stomach, where he tried to jump on my back so we both moved on the slip and slide. In the process he punched me in the face. It was too funny for me to be mad. I don't trust his plans to this day.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would take a motorcycle trip with my father across the country, visiting various landmarks and famous food locations on the way. I am not a big traveler and don't have a desire to travel to other countries, but I love riding motorcycles and I've heard so much about riding cross country. I also love watching the TV show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and would like to visit some of the locations presented on the show.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like my children to work hard, be responsible for their families and selves, and to be optimistic even through rough times.
