Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood moment would have to be in 8th grade when I won the grade level state championship in wrestling. After all of the work that I had put in throughout the year, it was an amazing accomplishment to be able to see all of my practice come to fruition. Altogether, I had an amazing time throughout the tournament along with my team and family that accompanied me. Especially my step-dad who was my coach at the time.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I would have to say that I identify the most with my father as we have a lot of the same traits as each other, even though some of our ideals may be very different. But, we agree on many fundamental things such as exercise, work ethic, and other general things involving lifestyle. We haven't always been very close but as of late it has gotten much better and we learn a lot from each other.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Honesty and loyalty are the two biggest character traits that I admire. To me it means that you are true to your word and have integrity. I believe many people in this world are incredibly corrupt and selfish, so I choose to surround myself with those that will be altruistic in their relationships.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?The funniest/scariest thing that has ever happened to me was when my parents had moved out of our home, and I was staying on for about three more weeks until I went to college. I decided to invite people over to hang out while I was there, which my parents were completely okay with. I had forgotten to tell my neighbors that I was staying there for a bit but the house was practically empty. So the cops ended up raiding the house thinking that we were robbing the house, but it was all a big misunderstanding. My parents ended up having to be called while they were away on vacation in Spain and explained the situation. Everything ended up being okay, but at the time it was terribly frightening, and now it is a hilarious story to tell.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?First I would travel to most of Europe because there is so much to see and such a rich culture in many different areas. From there I definitely would want to visit Japan because I am fascinated with their culture and way of life. I have also heard that it is a very beautiful place to visit.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? The main attribute I would like to pass onto them is the fact that many things in life are worth working for, and the ones that come easy are hardly worth it. I want my children to have a strong work ethic and passion for what they choose to achieve. If one thing in this world bothers me above all else, it is the sheer laziness of some people. My children will hopefully not have this type of attitude.
