Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? As a child, my favorite memories are traveling to Florida with my family. I had four siblings growing up (that number has since grown to seven), and we would all be so excited to prepare our travel backpacks and negotiate over the best car seats that it almost eclipsed the excitement that we felt when we arrived in Florida.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I have seven siblings, and I feel that identify with each of them in unique ways. I would, however, say that my bond with my father and mother is something completely different. My relatives always tell me that I look exactly like my father, and that my father looked exactly like his father. For this reason, whenever I arrive at family reunions my distant cousins are completely surprised by our likeness. My mother was always the most understanding person in the world, and would do anything to make sure that everybody was happy.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire hard-working individuals that are able to keep work and their personal lives separate. My dad worked extremely hard when I was growing up to provide for all of my family members, and my mom worked extremely hard to make sure that myself and all of my family members were taken care of.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?My mother was funny in that she would try to pull pranks on me. On one April Fool's day, she replaced the coffee creamer with flour and watched to find out when I would figure it out. I got all the way to the bottom of the cup of coffee, saw the massive glob of flour, and laughed out loud.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to Asia, specifically Thailand and Vietnam. There is, for some reason, something comfortable for me being in a new place with completely new faces. It always seems like a fresh start, even on small weekend trips.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass on my curiosity. I never feel like I need to stop learning, and I always walk away feeling better when I've learned something new.
