Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience?I was fortunate to have a family that loved to travel. Of the various trips that we took, I think the one that has stuck with me the most is a trip to Greece. We stayed with a host family over Orthodox Easter and took part in all of the traditions and celebrations and feasting. It was wonderful.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I most identify with my father. We both went to the same university and are avid tennis players. But beyond those similarities, our personalities and what we value are very closely aligned.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Honesty and a sense of right vs. wrong. The ability to develop trust in others and a sense of humor are important too!
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?I once had an apartment where the door would lock automatically when shut, like in a hotel. I was moving in during the summer and was lugging boxes upstairs without a shirt on (and my keys in the living room). A box that was propping open the door moved and the door shut with me outside. At this point, it was after 11 pm and I had to wait all night for my new landlord on day one of my lease to come and let me in. Never forgot my keys again, though!
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If technology also wasn't an issue, somewhere in space. But if we are keeping it to our planet, I'd love to travel around Southeast Asia. A trip to Portugal and Morocco is high on my list as well.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?Unconditional love and a strong ethical footing.
