What is your most memorable childhood experience?When I was in elementary school I made a drawing for art class which was hung up in the front of the school. My teacher thought it was a masterpiece! I spent a lot of time as a child creating things with my imagination. I am thankful that I lived in an area where I was able to let my imagination run free. I also have many great memories of vacations where there was lots of laughter.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify with my sister a lot since we like to do many of the same things, like indoor rock climbing and hiking. Through the years we have helped each other grow and learn. She is always someone I can count on.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire my problem solving skills most. I feel life gives me little puzzles to solve every day. This trait has served me incredibly well through the years. I am thankful it has helped me grow and develop.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?On vacation my cousin was imitating an art critic with a funny accent. He was talking about a painting my aunt recently made. I found it so hilarious and remember laughing for an hour while he was acting so silly. This is just one of the many humorous memories I have from family vacations.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to New Zealand since I have a friend who lives there. I really like the vibes of living close to the ocean. Every time I visit Florida I appreciate the laid-back atmosphere.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass onto them the most important lesson I have learned, which is to unconditionally love and forgive yourself and your fellow human. I feel thankful to be loved a lot as a child. I feel this love has helped me develop more than the structure of schooling and books. The forgiveness part means to let things go and not hold grudges. If I ever think of someone who has hurt me in the past, I immediately do what I can to tell myself that I forgive them. This goes for any mistakes I made. I try to forgive myself if I think of some mistake I made. This practice had helped me a lot through the years.
