What is your most memorable childhood experience?Going to Mexico for the first time when I was eight. It was great to meet my grandparents for the first time. Also, it was my first vacation ever, so it was great to experience the culture and sights of Mexico.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?My uncle on my mom's side. I consider him my father figure because I never knew my father growing up. He always treated me like I was a son. Whenever we would go out as a family, he would introduce me as one of his kids. He taught me that you have to work hard in life and to not make excuses when it gets tough. My uncle really shaped the person I am today, because I wouldn't be where I am today without him.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Honesty- it helps build trust and close relationships. Trust- shows how reliable a person is. Loyalty- when it gets tough is a person going to still be by your side?
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?It was my grandma's birthday and I was around the age of eight. My mom and my family told me to say happy birthday to my grandma in Spanish. I practiced saying it and had a pretty good sense of what to say. When the time came to say happy birthday, I ended up saying happy new years in Spanish. Everyone thought it was hilarious.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to Mexico. I think it's important to know and experience the culture of my family. It's something that I don't ever want to forget and would want to carry it with me.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?That nothing in life is given and everything is earned through hard work and determination. Life is never going to be of just highs. It's going to be a series of highs and lows. There's going to be moments in life that you'll have to overcome. Having the right outlook will get you through those moments.
