Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? When I was in kindergarten my parents bought me a football with my favorite team's logo on it. I was so excited I brought it to school. During after school care my friends and I played football. During a play the ball rolled into the street and down a storm drain. I was so upset but was too embarrassed to show any emotion around my friends. My dad came to pick me up after work, still in his Air Force uniform, looking all cool. My teacher told him what happened and without hesitation he opened up the manhole, took off his blouse, and climbed down the dark and mysterious hole while my friends and I watched in amazement. Eventually he came back up with the ball, and I was so excited and proud of my dad. I remember that was the first time I really thought of my dad as a hero.

I was horrified and disgusted at the same time.
