Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience is going on vacation with my family to Wisconsin. I remember fondly the happy times we shared as a family exploring the cherry orchards, hiking through nature, and riding together on a little boat.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I most closely identify with my mother because I believe that I inherited her demeanor and conciliatory abilities. She is the kindest person I have ever encountered, and it’s fully apparent that her nature rubbed off on all three of her sons. My mother and I both have strong opinions but we have an even stronger capacity for empathy and understanding.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire someone who is curious, creative, open-minded, modest, and self-sufficient. I believe that life is all about balance and that someone who has a healthy combination of personality traits is best suited to succeed and make the world a better place.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? When I was around twelve years old I went with my older brother to play tennis. He had just gotten his driver's license and he locked the keys in the car. We walked several miles all the way back home, and when we got there my brother reached into his pocket for his house keys and found the car keys were in his pocket.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel across Europe and Asia from London to Tokyo, from the Alps to the Himalayas. I think it would be amazing to experience all the different cultures and see all the different landscapes.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass on to my children my intelligence and artistic talents. I can’t imagine how remarkable it would be to have a deep intellectual discussion with my child or to listen to them perform on a musical instrument they’ve mastered.
