Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience?I remember traveling with my family on vacation to new destinations. We went to Yosemite when I was about twelve years old. It was my first experience at a national park of that size, and my first time camping. I loved the camping aspect as well as all the hiking. One day, we drove up to the top of one of the high lookout points and I remember loving the feeling of being that high up. I’ve returned to the park several times since then, and I still like it just as much.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify pretty closely to my sister. We both have a lot of self-respect and pride ourselves on our ability to adapt and succeed. We also have a very similar sense of humor.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire honesty, sound morals, efficient work ethic, and an eagerness to pursue new experiences.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? When I was in high school I was leaning back in my chair during English class. Students are usually told not to, and I found out why. The chair slipped out from under me and I fell to the floor, while shifting my desk, with a loud crash. I had been in the back of the classroom, and the crash was so loud that the teacher paused and the entire class turned around to see what the noise was. Being extremely embarrassed, I chose to remain on the floor. After a few seconds, the teacher asked, "Everything ok?" To which I replied, "Yup, just going to sit here for a bit." She went back to teaching and most of the class chuckled and turned around. I probably spent a minute or two there before I got back up and took my seat. The whole experience was incredibly embarrassing at the time, but to this day it makes me laugh.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to all the places that I have yet to visit. First on the list would most likely be Mt. Everest.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?A positive moral compass and the ability to openly display compassion.
