Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience was winning the middle school state wrestling championship. My parents took me and my brother to the state capital and we spent the entire weekend wrestling.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?My mother and I are the closest. I believe we have worked on our relationship the most throughout the years. She has always been supportive and accepting of my life choices and that has made our bond very strong. My mother and I also have the most similarities, she is a very strong-willed person, she works incredibly hard and she values education.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire people for their work ethic, their personal emphasis on further education, their emotional strength and their ability to overcome difficult situations, among other things. I have many personality traits I admire but it seems difficult to identify all of them.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?My wife and I believe we have the best sense of humor, and her stories and witty comments always make me laugh. Thus, it is difficult to think of the absolute funniest thing to ever happen to me. If I had to say one thing, I would have to go with when I was getting married my best friends wrote the words "HELP ME" across the bottom of my shoes. When I knelt down during the service the entire crowd was able to read my shoes. Needless to say my wife was not overly amused.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If time and money were of no issue I would love to travel all through Europe. If that is not specific enough, I would narrow it down to Switzerland and Germany. I love European history and Germany has some incredible historical sights (as does France). But Switzerland has the mountains and is such a fundamentally progressive country I think it would be amazing to see how their education system works.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I actually have two daughters already. The one thing I would really like to pass on to both of my daughters is the desire to further your education. I feel this pushes them to ask questions about the world and work hard in order to get the answers they are looking for. I also feel that further education shows dedication towards your own future (essentially investing in your own well-being).
