Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience occurred when I was around seven years old. My parents paid a man to dress as Santa Claus and come to our house and hand out gifts to me. Now that I'm older, it's not the fact that it was Santa Claus, it's more of the fact that my parents went out of their way to do something like that for me. That's why it's my most memorable childhood experience.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I closely identify with my cousin. He has faced adversity his entire life and has always made opportunities happen for his family. He was a barber, construction worker, tile contractor and is now the owner of two successful daycare facilities. The reason I identify with him is because we both sacrificed our time in order to have a successful life.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Honesty and humility are the most valuable character traits, in my opinion.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?On the last day of my 6th grade school year, I neglected to wear a belt. As the last bell rang, all the kids were walking toward the bus stop and a good friend of mine decided to seize the opportunity to expose me for not wearing a belt. He pulled my pants down in front of the majority of the school. At the time it was embarrassing, but as I grew older it became funnier.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I'd do a road trip across all of Europe, taking time to see the Swiss Alps, ancient ruins, and to try food from each region. It has always been a dream to travel to the other side of the world, but not for just a one week vacation. I'd like to have time and money to experience it for months.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I'd like to pass on to my kids that you don't take money with you when you pass from this world. The only things you take to your death bed are your memories. Don't waste your life chasing money; time is a currency you can't get back. Spend your life making memories with the people you love.
