What is your most memorable childhood experience?I remember boating down a river with my brothers in a shoddy little boat we found. Eventually the boat sank from leaks and we had to swim to shore.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify the most with my middle brother (I'm the youngest), he's also a driven person constantly in motion with a craving for exciting experiences.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I really admire direct and honest communication styles. They may come across as abrasive sometimes but you always know where you stand with them.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?It's hard to narrow it down to one event, but one thing that still strikes me is going to a very remote outpost in Afghanistan with about a hundred people and meeting a guy who grew up a few blocks from me; and then seeing him again two months later at some ruins in Cozumel Mexico.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I'd like to eventually see more of the Middle East for the people, food, and captivating landscapes. But I really want to tour all of Europe, everything from Austria down to Hungary and Turkey. The architecture is so dramatic and imposing. It just looks unreal.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?Two of the most important things I want to pass on to my children are problem solving ability and a Zen attitude.
