What is your most memorable childhood experience? | My father taught me how to drive a manual transmission when I was 12 in the Home Depot parking lot at night. I remember struggling for what seemed like forever, but was eventually able to switch through the gears, albeit not very smooth. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | My sister, because although we have different interests, we share a similar sense of humor that helps us not get tired of each other very easily. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire persistence, humility, confidence, and kindness in an individual. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | My father and I went backpacking in the Grand Tetons in Wyoming, My father was paranoid about encountering a bear, so we bought bear spray, a more concentrated form of pepper spray. He wanted to know how it worked so he tested it out behind our motel. When we started the hike, I was carrying the bear spray in my backpack next to my water bottle. I eventually went to grab my water bottle and a few minutes later, after wiping some sweat off my face, I felt a burning sensation. A few seconds later my vision went black, and my sinuses seized up. I thought I had touched a poisonous plant. Later that night when we were setting up camp I realized there was some orange residue on the nozzle of the bear spray. My father and I immediately started laughing, and were finished up the trip without seeing any bears. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would backpack all of the national parks in the US because I love hiking and camping and being outdoors. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I would pass the traits of being respectful, gracious, curious, and ambitious to my children. I would also pass onto them the experience of driving a standard transmission because it might end up being their most memorable childhood moment. |
