What is your most memorable childhood experience?My most memorable childhood experience was hanging a floodlight in the driveway so I could play basketball after dark. I would spend hours and hours playing and practicing. I loved being outside as well as practicing. I often practiced during winter outside.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?My father - his curiosity for the world around him is contagious and something I embody. His dry sense of humor is something that has also been passed on to me.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Humility as well as kindness toward others. My favorite quote is "True strength is found in kindness."
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?When I was seven, my childhood friend and I both started laughing uncontrollably in an environment where we were expected to be quiet. We both spotted an event at the same time and started giggling. Our laughter escalated from there and soon everyone around was laughing as well.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?Mountains - any and all mountains that are accessible. Mountains provide a sense of wonder for me as well as giving me a sense of home. They are a sort of spiritual centering point for me.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?Curiosity about the natural world, humans, as well as space. Kindness toward themselves and others. The ability to fail, and an understanding that failing is not negative but one element amidst others in the journey to success.
