What is your most memorable childhood experience?I remember when I was born. The world was such a shock, the air so cold, the heartbeat of my mother gone, the sounds loud. I wanted to go back inside. The distress for the outside slowly faded and I became comfortable with it.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?My brother has always been the other member on our two person team with an aim to create new and beautiful things in the world. To my scientific ambition he has imbued the value of artistry.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire vision, desire, kindness to animals, the ability to think about complex concepts, and the combination of good judgement and willingness to take risks for a good purpose.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?One day when I was fourteen I got a cold and had a sore throat and my voice became hoarse. Then I healed up and felt totally normal except my voice was still deep sounding. I wondered, "what is going on?" It stayed deep after that and when I would answer the phone people thought I was my dad.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If time were really not an issue then I would fulfill my childhood dream of traveling to another planet, with oceans, rivers and forests like earth but otherwise totally surprising and foreign, where I could establish a new civilization.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would share that if a person cultivates their personal perspective over the course of their life, saving up and revisiting their best and most heartfelt ideas, that they can move beyond randomness and probability to a realm where the path they dream of can actually be experienced by them and other people.
