Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? When I was 8 my family took a trip to Disneyworld. On the day we had planned to go, the park was closed, so we went to the MGM park instead. I loved Star Wars at the time, and still do. To my surprise there was a mock recreation of a scene and an event where they would pick kids to go through "Jedi training". I was ecstatic when they picked me. I went on to train with a lightsaber and fight Stormtroopers and Darth Maul! I still have the certificate of training they gave me to this day.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I'm close with a lot of my family but probably closest with my father. We have had quite a few similar experiences and he has helped me a lot through life, especially recently. He also has introduced me to most of the movies and music I like today. While he is still my dad, sometimes we can just spend time together like good friends.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Confidence, loyalty, and honesty, but honesty above the rest. Sometimes it is very difficult to be honest, and most times the more difficult, the more being honest matters. It takes a lot of courage and self-respect to be honest and I think that sometimes it can be lost on people because it is easier to lie than to accept the truth.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?I work at an escape room company at home and one time, after I had opened the store and started resetting my room, I started playing music thinking I was alone. My manager, unbeknownst to me, entered the room where we monitor guests playing our games along with about 6 other managers from locations in the area. Evidently they were watching me, because after I had sung, danced,, and reset the room, I went back to our surveillance room only to realize I had been watched. A wave of embarrassment washed over me as they all laughed at my predicament, but I soon joined in and remember the time fondly. I ended up becoming an Assistant Manager very soon afterwards.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?As much as I'd love to see everything on our planet, I'd drop everything in a heartbeat if it meant going to and getting to see space. Seeing Earth from far away, being on the moon, and potentially even getting to see other celestial bodies up close are all things on my bucket list. I really hope to get to do at least some of those things in my lifetime.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?As important as it is to care for other people it is just, if not more, important to make sure that you're taken care of as well. Self-respect is a crucial thing for keeping yourself emotionally and mentally healthy. With a good headspace, I believe you can accomplish just about anything.
