Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience?I remember fishing with my grandfather and trying to reel in a fish off his dock. I lost the first fish, but he said that was ok and to keep trying. I kept fishing and caught six fish, each of a different species. My grandpa helped me release each fish and bait the hook for the next catch. I was only about 6 years old but the memory is still clear.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify with my mother the most. She's an extremely strong person, a mediator, a mentor, and a people person. She worked extremely hard growing up (and still does). I work like she does, and I communicate with people like she does. We both listen to others opinions and make decisions based off reason and not emotions.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire honesty, integrity, and always doing right thing. I also admire anyone who takes passion in their work, no matter the job. Passion and truth are the two most admirable traits, in my opinion.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? When I was graduating high school my friend changed my name to funny nickname. During the graduating ceremony, this same friend was reading everyone's name and thought it would be funny to call me out that way. I was embarrassed, but it's still funny to my family and friends years later.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to Romania. I want to research my Jewish side of the family and learn their story. They are from Romania and I think it would be fun learn about their lives.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass on to them a sense personal accountability and perseverance. Not to be a bystander in a crowd, but someone who knows their self and is willing to stand up in a room full of people sitting down. Aside from that, I would want them to share my good health and positive state of mind.
