Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience is my brother being born. I was only three and a half, but I asked my grandparents if I could sleep over at their house because I thought my brother was going to be born soon. My parents ended up going to the hospital later that night and my brother was born the next morning. My grandparents took me to see him that morning and I was very excited to have my first and only sibling.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I closely identify with my brother. We were always fighting growing up, but once I went off to college we became closer. We have all the same interests and get along really well now. He is my best friend.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire people who are always positive or do their best to always be positive. These kinds of people always try to brighten your day and we can't thank them enough. I also admire patience because life can be frustrating and you need to be able to take a step back to realize in the grand perspective of life, it's probably not the end of the world.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?My senior year of high school I went on a safari ride at Animal Kingdom in Disney World. As the ride crossed a bridge, it began to shake and I thought the bridge was going to collapse. I frantically got ready to jump off the ride to safety, but the bridge wasn't actually collapsing. My friends thought this was hilarious and I would have to agree.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to Italy to watch my favorite soccer team play. I am half Italian and half Irish, but I have already had the pleasure of going to Ireland. Italy is on my bucket list because it is a beautiful place with incredible people and culture.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass on to my future children advice my dad gave to me, which was "Do what you love and love what you do." It doesn't matter what you do in life (focus on your career, family, etc.) happiness is more important than everything. Find what makes you happy and chase after it.
