What is your most memorable childhood experience?I spent an entire summer on a cross-country camping trip with my grandparents and siblings. We went camping, hiking, fishing, and saw all the beautiful scenery and notable monuments that the United States has to offer.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify closely with my mother. She is the strongest, most hardworking, and compassionate person I have ever met. Many of those qualities have been passed on to me.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Honesty, responsibility, and compassion for others are all very important characteristics. Honesty helps people do the things that need to be done, but in the right way. Taking ownership of one’s shortcomings enables you to grow and mature, and compassion for others is seeing the suffering in others and wanting to do something about it. I do see these characteristics in my family members.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?When I was a younger, I got hit by a wave at a private beach and it swept my trunks clean off. At the time my family members thought it was hilarious and looking back it definitely was!
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?Everywhere. I love to travel, experience new places and things, and meet new people. The next location on my list is Belize, where I would like to dive the Great Blue Hole.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?If I ever have children I would like to pass on a strong work ethic and resilience. My parents taught me that by working hard and rolling with the punches I could achieve anything I put my mind to.
