What is your most memorable childhood experience? | I have played hockey since I could walk and have great memories of playing at all levels as a kid. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I identify most with my grandfather. He was loved by everyone and was funny, kind, generous, an amazing athlete, and tough as nails. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire people who are unselfish, dedicated, intelligent, funny, hard working, brave, loving, fun, and strong. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | There are so many funny stories but the one that jumps out is when I was interviewing for a volunteer firefighter position.
A group of six veteran firefighters were sitting around a table conducting panel interviews for new firefighters. I was at the head of the table and had answered some serious interview questions before being asked how I would integrate as a new firefighter joining an established crew. They were all business and not one of them had smiled up until I said I would learn how the crew functions using a mouth open eyes shut strategy. They all burst out laughing. I said, "Reverse that and we are set!" They offered me the job on the spot! |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | Everywhere! So many incredible places to see on our planet. I love the ocean so I would start there and work my way around the world exploring mountains, deserts, forests, canyons and all the other incredible sites this planet has to offer. Seeing and experiencing all the different environments the world has to offer helps us grow and see people and the planet in a new way. |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I want them to understand the value of working hard, never quitting, and being a leader, so that they can accomplish amazing things in life. I also want them to know that they are loved. |
