Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? When I think of my childhood, I think of all the times playing basketball in the pool with my brothers, nephew, and dad. That is the memory that comes to me when I think of a time of pure happiness. Some other memorable moments would be my youth baseball games and family road trips that my parents loved to take us on.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I think I most closely identify with my oldest brother. Growing up, he was the one I was always trying to be like. We played baseball together and I consider myself very lucky to have someone to learn from and look up to from a young age.
What character traits do you admire in an individual? The most important character traits to me would be simplicity, patience, and compassion. I truly admire someone who lives their life for others. A world full of compassion would have no strife.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?I think the funniest/most embarrassing thing to ever happen to me was on a Carnival cruise with some friends. As part of a "scavenger hunt" type game, someone on our team had to strip down to their underwear, put on a woman's bra, and run up to the stage and dance to get a point for the team. Well that someone was me....not exactly my finest moment.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would like to visit China at some point in my life. My father spent a lot of time there as a teacher of Chinese medicine and Qi Gong, and I would always love hearing his stories about his time there.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would hope to pass on to my children my patient and pragmatic personality. That is something that, I believe, has helped me out of a lot of problems that I have encountered throughout my life. I hope that they also inherit at least some of my athletic abilities. I would love to someday watch my kids play sports and pass on all the knowledge that I have to them.
