Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience was visiting Puerto Rico. I was only 7 or 8 but I vividly remember chasing lizards throughout the day in the yard, drinking coconuts my grandpa cut open and swimming under waterfalls. It was so unique and unlike anything else I had experienced up to that point in my life and made a lasting impression.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify most with my younger brother. We are very similar in many ways, mainly our sense of humor. We get along very well, and he is a very sweet person. I love when other people compare me to him because he is an amazing person.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire hard work. Most people have one or a few things they are naturally very good at. I truly admire when someone puts in the hard work for something they want and achieve the goal.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? After a long day of working in a gulch my friends/coworkers and I were making our way up the hill. It had rained the night before. Right as we were getting to the top, my friend ahead of me slipped and slowly started sliding down the hill at us. She managed to grab hold of me while our other friends scrambled to the side. We slow-slid down the muddy hill. Everyone laughing the whole time and for quite a while thereafter.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would like to travel to the Mediterranean. I love the history of the area and there is so much to see. I would love to take my time to enjoy the weather, culture, history and food.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I want them to know the value of hard work and honesty. These are two things I learned about very early from my parents. Hard work came easier to me than honesty but once I grew to understand the importance of the latter, I have seen them as the two most important values for children to learn.
