What is your most memorable childhood experience? My senior year of high school was my most memorable year because it was my final year of competitive basketball with all my friends. I was our starting Power Forward and kicked off the season with a game winning 3 pointer in overtime against our toughest opponent. That followed with a successful season capped off with our school’s 1st Regional Championship in 18 years. It was a great year where I built all these friendships and memories that will last forever.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?My dad and I are very similar in appearance, and we also share similar hobbies and interests. I can talk to my dad about anything, and we enjoy the same music, movies and books. I have the type of dad that is more like a best friend than a dad. We can sit around playing our guitars or discussing literature or shooting hoops.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire honesty and truthfulness in individuals. I would rather know what you’re really thinking as opposed to what you think I would like to hear. I also enjoy someone that has a good sense of humor. I like to joke around and keep things light when I’m hanging out with someone. Lastly, I really enjoy someone who is creative or interesting, I enjoy learning new things through conversations with like-minded individuals.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?One thing that always stuck out to me was back in the college days. I played guitar in my brother’s psychedelic band. We had played several shows at bars and clubs around our college town and had some fun and successful shows. However, our last show was a mishap and the climax for me was when I accidentally stepped on the cord leading to my guitar amp and unplugged my guitar. It made a loud obnoxious noise and I had to bend down and plug back in. Few people noticed because our music was so loud and psychedelic, but it really humbled me and I had to laugh at myself for not being as professional as I thought I was.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would probably do Hawaii because it has everything I enjoy in a destination. I enjoy the ocean, beach, and hiking mountains so I would always have something to do. I would like to learn how to surf and just kick back on the beach and listen to the waves crashing. I enjoy being out in the sun and hanging out with fun people and going on peaceful walks by myself. Hawaii has it all in those respects.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass on to my future children my athleticism so they can enjoy whichever sport they love. I also have a very mathematical mind that I believe is very useful and would like to pass on. Lastly, I would like that my children have my family’s personality. I can’t quite define it, but it’s a mellow disposition that every man in my family has possessed and I think people enjoy being around it.
