Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? The most memorable childhood experiences I have are spending time with my family on weekends working around the house. We lived on 10 acres growing up, so I spent a lot of time with my dad fixing things and spending time as a family working on the land. In addition, we spent a lot of time camping.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I closely identify with my brother. We spent most of our childhoods together. He is only 2 years older than me, so we shared many memories together as children as well as friend groups. We have both became adults with very similar hobbies and aspirations so we can relate on every level.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire people who are honest with those around them, people who can be outgoing and friendly with different people from different backgrounds, and people who are educated and willing to show or teach others.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?I cannot recall the funniest thing that has ever happened to me but there is one thing that comes to mind. About 10 years ago I was at a lake camping with my friend, and we had not brought anything to float with, so we took our air mattress out on the lake. Once on the lake my friend and I thought it would be a good idea to try and paddle across this lake on the air mattress. This however was not a good idea because once we were about 3/4 across, we realized the air mattress had lost a lot of air and was starting to sink. Luckily, we made it across the lake and eventually a boat came by and saved us. All in all, it was a good day but a crazy funny experience as well.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If money and time were not an issue, I would travel to Australia. At some point in my future, I will eventually travel to there. My parents spent many months there before I was born, and they said it was a gorgeous place full of beauty.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? When I have children, I would like to pass on to them what my parents have shown me. I want to pass on a strong work ethic. I want to show them things I know so that one day they will be able to pass on skills and experiences to their offspring. I would like to think that I could raise a child who is the perfect combination of me and my girlfriend to create well-rounded and unique children.
