Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? In fifth grade, on Christmas morning my parents got us a dog. She was a baby basset hound named Molly, and I was so insanely excited that I just ran around the room shouting "THANK YOU" as loud as I could. That experience comes to mind all the time when I am reminiscing about my childhood.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?My little sister is the family member I identify with the most. She is four years younger than me, and I can see so much of myself in her. She is in college right now, making the same silly mistakes I made, and having a great time. I love her very much, and I've seen her grow up right alongside me. It's been a great experience.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Active listening has to be one of the most important character traits a person can have. I also think the ability to admit when you are wrong is extremely important. Communication is key to a healthy life, and actively listening/being able to put your ego aside and admit your flaws is a hugely important aspect of healthy communication.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?I've been a standup comedian for close to six years now. I am a very physically active performer, I give high fives to audience members, I do karate kicks and leap into the air sometimes to get a crowd riled up. Two years ago, I accidentally ripped my pants onstage and had to continue performing comedy to a full crowd, while also attempting to hide my torn-up trousers. My face was beet red, and the audience was losing their minds. It is still one of the funniest accidents that's ever happened to me while performing.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If I had infinite money and time, I would want to travel into space. I know that may sound cliche, but I can't think of a more incredible place to travel to. Our solar system is huge, and so far, I have only been able to see the night sky/pictures of space. I would love to actually see the earth from a distance, floating in outer space.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?If I have children, I would like to pass down my musical instruments. My mother is an avid scrapbooker, so I would make sure her many scrapbooks would go to my kids. She has collected pictures from almost every major milestone in my family's life. That would be a valuable resource for my future family.
