Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experiences would be the snow days we'd have growing up. One year we got 14 inches in a day and our dad took us sledding at the elementary school. It was a perfect day.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify closely with my brother. We're almost like twins and share a lot of the same interests. Our humor and approach to things is also very similar.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Honesty is one. Kindness is another. I'm not sure how to qualify it as a single trait, but the way someone talks to a person who is new to a group and the way they welcome them speaks volumes to me.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?I once finished a class early in college and went to my next class without thinking about the time difference. So, I walked into a lecture hall in the middle of a computer science class where everyone had laptops in front of them learning Python. It was the middle of the quarter too so it's not like I could have just joined the class late. I tried to play it off and just sat down next to a complete stranger in the back while the professor gave me the weirdest look. Thankfully he didn't call me out because that would have been even more embarrassing.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I'd travel to all the best ski resorts in the world! Skiing is probably my favorite outdoor activity and very costly. But if money weren't an issue, I'd try to go to all of them just to experience the mountain.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would want them to have a sense of level headiness and practicality. Also, my love for volleyball and skiing. If I ever had kids, I'd want them to enjoy those things with me.
