What is your most memorable childhood experience?My most memorable childhood experience was Christmas time with my family. It was great to have the entire family together enjoying each other’s company. Giving out gifts, doing “white elephant” gift exchanges, and eating Grandma’s egg custard pie are fond memories.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?The immediate family member I most closely identify with is my brother. We both have a strong drive to be successful and serve others. I appreciate my parents for instilling these values within us. In addition to these traits, we also have similar senses of humor.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?The character traits I admire in an individual are integrity, humor, and a sense of adventure. I especially admire integrity because other important ideals are derived from integrity such as honesty, trustworthiness, and loyalty. Humor is important to me because you can’t take life too seriously and some of the best moments in life are filled with laughter.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?The funniest thing to happen to me is a collection of moments when hanging out with my best friends and wife. Whether it’s playing board games or video games, hiking, or traveling, we always have humor filled days. We constantly tell jokes, play pranks, and tell stories.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would love to travel back to Switzerland, Japan, or Iceland. Spending a month or two absorbing the culture and living as the locals do would be a great experience. It would also be amazing to have a chance to spend more time hiking and taking in nature in these places without time constraints.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass on knowledge I’ve learned through my experiences and from my own parents. I’d hope to instill in kids the same values my parents instilled in me. I’d also like to give them the means to follow their dreams.
