Working at Fairfax Cryobank has given me the extraordinary opportunity to assist a multitude of patients on their way to becoming parents. One particular patient sticks out in my mind—she called one afternoon after 2pm EST (the cut-off for same day shipments), and desperately needed vials for her scheduled procedure the following morning. At that point, the possibility of her order shipping out that day was slim because most of our lab staff had already gone home. To my great relief, my coworkers and I were actually able to find two lab staffers who hadn’t left the building! I was able to call the patient back and have her vials shipped out for her procedure the next day. It’s those types of situations where I am reminded that my actions can truly make a difference in someone else’s life.
