To help you secure the availability of your favorite donors, Fairfax Cryobank created 2 programs: Vial Buy & Store and Vial Buy Back.

Vial Buy & Store

As donor availability fluctuates back and forth over time, Fairfax Cryobank advises planning ahead and securing your donor vials when the availability is guaranteed. The Vial Buy & Store program allows you to pre-purchase extra donor vials ahead of time, then store them at Fairfax Cryobank until you are ready.

All semen specimens are stored in liquid nitrogen tanks equipped with automatic fill devices and alarm systems. Fairfax Cryobank offers several different billing options, including monthly and more economical long-term storage agreements. Patients pay one fee (see below) regardless of how many specimens they choose to store. Specimens in storage may be shipped to the health care provider of your choice for the current handling and shipping charges. They can also be shipped to your home if the appropriate home consent forms have been completed.

Vial Buy Back

Since 1990, Fairfax Cryobank has allowed clients to return any unused specimens and receive half (50%) of the original purchase price back.  Vials must have been purchased at regular price and must never have left the Fairfax Cryobank facility. 

There are no limits to the number of vials that can be returned for this partial refund and there are no restrictions regarding the status of a client’s account. The Vial Buy Back program is not offered on specimens that have been transferred by the original owner and it may not be available to clients outside the United States.  International clients should contact Client Services at global@fairfaxcryobank.com for more information. Vial Exchange

Fairfax Cryobank understands that our clients’ treatment plans may change after they purchase vials from us.  We permit clients to exchange donor vials stored with us for vials from another donor or of another prep type so long as the exchange is requested within 36 months of when the original vials were purchased.  

Vials that have left Fairfax Cryobank’s facility are not eligible for exchange or refund.  Fees apply to each exchange and clients must complete required paperwork. Please allow a minimum of 5 business days for the processing of exchanges.  Contact Client Services for more information.”
